Jesus Christ Superstar at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley
The Cutty Sark, Greenwich
Eltham Palace
It is hard to believe that the musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is now over 50 years old! Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the show was first staged on Broadway in 1971 and tells the story of the struggle between Judas and Jesus. Judas is unhappy about the way in which Jesus leads the disciples and fears that they may be seen as a threat by the leaders of the Roman Empire. The musical contains many familiar songs, the best known probably being, ‘I don’t know how to love him’, sung by Mary Magdalene towards the end of the first act.
During our visit to this part of London, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, we will be visiting some of the most well-known landmarks in the area.
